Serpentine Wall

Isn’t this just gorgeous?!?!? Brick serpentine wall surround by the red leaves of fall. I stood up on the wall so I could get this over view picture. It was so pretty out there. Some people think that fall and winter are such drab times of the year. I think nature is just showing off with what can be done with less colors. Sometimes less is more.

Wandering and Poetry

I just started this site yesterday and have had so many people make such sweet comments to me. And who would have thought that a connection would happen. So, from the suggestion of a fellow blogger to add a poem, I requested that he send a poem. Above is his poem to go along with my photo. Isn’t the internet so wonderful when all the right people are together…

Light at the End

This cave was so amazing, mesmerizing, and beautiful. Deep inside there were leopard frogs in pools, water flowing from somewhere deep inside. We hiked for about half an hour before we turned back. Just when it started to get to the crawling point, we decided we had seen enough wonderment for the day. It was truly an amazing thing to see.

Hanging Out

This bluff is over 30 feet in the air with huge icicles hanging down. A beautiful box canyon hidden away in Missouri. This place is truly amazing.

Granite and Green

Beautiful flowing creek with granite rocks covered in moss. The sound is so amazing and relaxing. The view is a never ending beauty. I will be back here in the spring, summer and fall. This is a place to experience in all the glorious times of the year.

Flowing Along

Another picture of the hidden treasure off the highway. The waterfall flows down some rocks, around a bend, and down into a beautiful stream that meanders along side some gravel roads until it reaches the Meramec.

I’m going back in Spring when all is awake, all is vibrant, all is alive.

Hidden by the Highway

Down a gravel road I met a friend. Asking for directions, unlikely friends are made. The best friends are found this way. The connection to others who love nature such as myself. Ray. Ray took me to a beautiful hidden treasure off a highway. No one knows it’s there really. Just some locals, a few passer-bys who happen to hear the roar of this beauty on just the right day. Littered with trash and nonsense on the trail to get there, this gem is hidden from everything. Tucked away by nature to preserve it’s beauty. Preserve it’s innocence and magnificence.  Thank you for sharing Ray!!!

White Flower by the Cave

Spring is rising up. This little white flower sat in the leaf clutter of a beautiful almost spring morning on the River. Kayaking down the Meramec we stumbled upon a shallow cave that we decided to explore. As we climbed up the steep slope to the cave, this little beauty stood proud. Innocent, Pure, White, New. Ready for a new day. Ready for the adventures of Spring. Ready for Life.

Rusting Away in the Woods

Walking along a trail we came along this…..a gear, a wheel, a something. I’m not sure, but I liked how the light hit it and how it didn’t really belong.

Flow On

Water flowing from a little spring from a cave, down into Hamilton Creek. Caves, springs and creeks are all so lovely.

Growing in the Spring

Little plants growing in a spring during the middle of winter. Hamilton Creek area in Missouri. Gorgeous, water bubbling up from the bottom of the pool, everything in it so green with life, while the surrounding woods were monotone in the color of winter.

Looking Up from Under the Bridge

Hiking along a trail, I crossed a bridge over a dried up creek bed. I jumped down and got under the bridge to see another perspective. I thought the fern was very elegant amongst the fall leaves.

Life as an Adventure

Once upon a time, I didn’t like my life so much. I was in a very bad place, and had a huge mountain in front of me. I didn’t see life as an adventure, I didn’t even see it as a life.

Perspective is everything. Now I see my life as challenging, adventurous, and full of hope.
